This free screening is part of a weekly event called Documentary Evenings held by Colleen Carroll at the Downtown East Side Carnegie Community Center in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Every Saturday night they show Indie Docs that are not covered in mainstream media to the economically disadvantaged. Free refreshments are also provided.
This event screening will be hosted by Buzzledom to kick off their Positive Media Message Campaign and "Love Your Body, Love Your Life." A Panel Discussion will take place following the film with Buzzledom Founder, Tisa Mendoza, Filmmaker, Jeff Warrick, Author, Dr. Eldon Taylor, local community leaders and other guests. St. Pete for Peace Film Series

St Pete for Peace, in conjunction with Café Bohemia, sponsors a free film showing every Wednesday night in the outside patio of this downtown St Petersburg bistro. The weekly film series, running since January of 2007, shows documentaries, full feature movies and other films on such topics as U.S. militarism, environmentalism, political processes, and other global areas of concern.
Host A Screening
Join the campaign to increase media literacy and raise social awareness regarding corporate advertising and government propaganda tactics being used today. Host a screening of "PROGRAMMING THE NATION?" in your own community, and we'll work with you to create a licensing strategy that is cost effective based on the size of your event.
Whether its for a theater, campus, university, library, community group, coffee house, or living room. We'll provide the DVD's, marketing materials, additional outreach, and more!
Perhaps you'd like to turn it into a "Special Event", by having the filmmakers and/or interviewees attend a screening to lecture or take Q & A afterwards? Send us your thoughts and ideas and we'll work with you to develop a game plan and make it happen.
